The Perfect Soldier
Riza by many standards could be considered the perfect soldier. She is flawlessly efficient, calm, collected, organised and respectful. She is conscientious of her rank and never fails to be polite to her superiors. Her hair and attire are always impeccably tidy, she never slacks off and manages to carry out her own duties and carry the weight of her immediate superior also.
Even when Riza is assigned under the fuhrer , a position of danger beside an exposed and lethal enemy, she still remains dutiful and efficient. This is a testament not only to her extreme willpower and control over her emotions but also her competency at her job.

Whens she agrees to watch Roy's back she promises to not only protect him from outside threats, to trust and encourage him – but also to eliminate him should he stray from the path of justice. This iresolve reinforces the idea that she has a heavy sense of duty, one above and beyond the average person. So strong in fact as to potentially sacrifice her most precious person. Her feelings toward her job seem similar.
When one thinks of Riza's capability as a soldier her skill with firearms is something that instantly comes to mind. As one would expect, soldiers on the field need to not only be mentally capable but physically fit as well. Considering the weight of the guns we see Riza carrying and firing accurately with we can tell that she is very strong for a woman. Her reflexes are nearly on par with Scar's bullet dodging speed, and her aim is the stuff of legends. Riza Hawkeye is a natural in combat.
Although her ultimate goal may be to eventually remove power from the military, she still shows startling determination and adeptness towards her job. This is a defining aspect of her personality that, although she may not ethically agree with the role she is in, she makes the most of her job and acts expertly within it. It is potentially this attitude that keeps her and Roy's true intentions hidden from the military for so long.
